Everyone knows that plants need two things to survive: sunlight and water. There are, fortunately plants that survive without light or, more accurately, they need very little natural light to develop normally. There is real plant category, which withstands without light and is ideal and welcome in houses with windows on north or west, with small windows or with an exterior shaded by vegetation.
I made a list of some plants that survive without light.
On the list of plants that survive without light among celebrities include Aglaonema. Aglonema is also called “dark plant” is a plant with evergreen leaves native to Asia. Interestingly, this plant resists as well in bright light, but also without light. But it has two major needs: heat and water. In addition leaves have a rich and deep green but they should be cleaned periodically. The plant is an excellent air filter.
From the series of plants that survive without light is Aspidistra. They grow well in cool, shady, places and is very sensitive to direct sunlight. The plant can grow up to 100 cm tall, it is rich in dark green, glossy leafy and has unscented purple flowers.
On the list of plants that survive longer without lights and Zamioculcas or ZZ plant. ZZ plant is easy to maintain, very beautiful, dark green and very glossy leafy. Zamioculcas is a perennial plant native to Africa. It does not require frequent watering, the plant storing water in tuber so that leaves have a thick and fleshy appearance surviving long periods without water. Too much water leads to yellowing of leaves and tubers to rot.
Fine spray with water the leaves, at an interval of several days because they maintain enough humidity in the air, while the soil is allowed to dry slightly between watering. The plant resists without direct sunlight or indirect light with only a few hours a day for two to three months, but this time the plant does not grow. It needs sometimes periods in which to receive natural light directly or indirectly at least a few hours a day to develop normally.
Sansevieria trifasciata is one of the most popular plants that survive without light and is ideal for shady apartments. Originally from Africa, the plant can grow up to 60 centimeters; it has dark green leaves with yellow stripes. Sansevieria trifasciata supports common room very well humidity can be kept both in sunlight and in a shady space.
